About the speaker

Martha B. Koo, MD, FASAM, FCTMSS, LFAPA

Dr. Martha Koo is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who is a passionate advocate for the use of novel treatment interventions for mental health. She completed undergraduate studies at Princeton University, medical training at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, psychiatry residency training at the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Institute at UCLA, and psychoanalytic training at the New Center for Psychoanalysis. Dr. Koo is Double Board Certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. She is also CIIS certified in psychedelic assisted therapy. A pioneer in the development and application of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Dr. Koo opened the South Bay TMS Therapy Center in 2009. Currently, Dr. Koo is the Chief Medical Officer at Your Behavioral Health, which includes Neuro Wellness Spa, Clear Behavioral Health and New Life House. Neuro Wellness Spa is an in-network psychiatry practice with eleven outpatient clinics across the greater LA area that offer medication management, psychotherapy, and TMS. Clear Behavioral Health offers a full continuum of care from residential detox to partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment for individuals struggling with mental health, addiction, and dual diagnoses. New Life House offers long term residential care for young adult males with dual diagnoses. Dr. Koo is the Immediate Past-President of the Clinical TMS Society (CTMSS) and on the Board of Directors of the CTMSS, the Foundation for Advancement of Clinical TMS, and the Beach Cities Health District. Dr. Koo is a CTMSS Fellow, American Psychiatric Association Life Fellow and Distinguished Fellow of the Southern California Psychiatric Society.
